Some of you may remember one of our favourite days of the week being a Friday…not just because it’s the start of the weekend but because we would welcome so many talented, musical young people at CY HQ who would delight us with their singing and instrument playing! Over the last couple of years, we have missed the buzz of our Music Cafe on a Friday afternoon but are now delighted to announce the return of one of our favourite youth clubs…with a brand new name –
CY Creative Hub!
CY Creative Hub is part of The Scottish Government’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) which is administered by Creative Scotland. The YMI creates access to high quality music making opportunities, enables young people to achieve their potential in or through music and supports the development of the sector for the benefit of young people.
We were so excited to be awarded this fund to help us support and encourage our young people to realise their creative potential.
The Creative Hub will run on Friday afternoons from 1.30pm – 4pm and is open to all young people in Edinburgh aged 12-19, regardless of creative ability!
Activities will include guitar/drum/keyboard lessons, vocal coaching, photography, using the recording studio and engaging with an artist – we are also keen to hear from the young people if there are activities they would like to be involved in.
The team cannot wait to welcome our young people back to the building and we’re looking forward to hearing/seeing all the creativity over the next year!
