Youth & Children's Work

Making an Impact

CY provides a variety of services and support for children and young people who live in our local area to help them have fun, overcome barriers and try new things. Our weekly programme of clubs focuses on fun activities that help build skills, confidence and peer relationships.

Children and young people are encouraged to be active members of the clubs and have a big say in what activities they can do. Our clubs are open to anyone in the local area and operate on a drop-in basis so there is no need for previous sign up/registration. We also provide a programme of activities during Easter and Summer school holidays as well as yearly residential breaks where children and young people are involved in a variety of outdoor activities.

Work in Schools

CY works very closely with our two local high schools, St Thomas of Aquin’s and James Gillespie’s and has links with other high schools throughout the City. We offer support to young people through one to one and small group work programmes. This support can focus on a range of issues including family difficulties, peer relationships, truancy and improving emotional well-being. As an integral part of the learning communities of both our local high schools, we attend monthly GIRFEC and Assessment of Needs meetings to ensure young people are receiving the most appropriate support available.

Programme of Activities

We provide a number of clubs and activities throughout the week. All our clubs focus on fun activities that help build skills, confidence and peer relationships. Children and young people are encouraged to take an active part in the club they attend and have a big say in the activities they are involved in.
