Power Up is Back!

After our first, very successful Power Up programme we are excited to be able to run another programme for young women aged 13-16

Power Up is a 12 week long programme to empower young women to take control over their relationships, sexual health and emotional wellbeing.

Power Up is aimed at young women aged 13 to 16 who are or could be involved in risk taking behaviour, have an unhealthy view of relationships or could be at risk of sexual exploitation, violence or emotional abuse.

In a very safe, supportive and creative environment, the participants are going to be encouraged to reflect about important aspects in young people’s lives such as:
Body image and sexualisation
Healthy and unhealthy relationships
Self-esteem and reality perception
Social media and staying safe online
Sexual health and porn
Grooming and sexual exploitation
Consent and asking for help
Feelings, emotions and life purpose
Community belonging

The programme will help them to increase their awareness, to be more confident and become more resilient.

Power Up is due to start on Wednesday 22nd of May and will run every following Wednesday until 25th of September of 2019 (with a break during the school summer holidays).

If you are interested or working with anyone who might be suitable for the programme, please send a Referral form (attached document) to sima@canongateyouth.org.uk or contact me on 0131 556 9389 / 0779 9243 565.
