Our Story

Canongate Youth

Be | Belong | Become

Our vision is for children and young people in Edinburgh and the Lothians to be healthy, happy and secure, belong in their communities and become confident and fulfilled adults

Since 1977 we have been providing a safe, welcoming and fun space for children and young people aged 5-25. We offer a relevant and holistic programme of services to support children and young people with issues they are facing and look at ways we can help them navigate these issues. Our provision includes youth and children’s clubs, holiday activities, employability support, group work, social enterprise café, 1-1 support and outdoor play.

Our Values

We have 5 core values that underpin all the work that we do

We are accountable and transparent in our actions. We will do what we say we will wherever we can.

All our sessions and activities will be fun and make children and young people feel good about taking part in them.

Child & Young Person Led

We put children and young people at the core of what we do. We listen to them and involve them as much as we can in decision making and designing of activities and sessions. Their opinion matters!

We support children and young people to be themselves and treat them with care and respect. We provide a safe and welcoming space for them to be, belong and become.

We help children and young people make decisions that are their own. We listen to them about what they want from their life and support them to overcome challenges to get to where they want to be.
